AMCS helps Red Hill School have fun whilst getting fit with outdoor exercise equipment as part of CSR project
AMCS is the leading supplier of integrated software and vehicle technology for the waste, recycling and material resources industries. Headquartered in Fanningstown, Crecora, Limerick, AMCS has offices and teams located across Europe, North America and Australasia.
As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, AMCS partnered with Red Hill School in Patrickswell, Limerick which is a co-educational specialist school for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder, where there are 71 pupils in attendance.
AMCS employees fundraised by holding a bake/produce sale at their office in Limerick and also held a music night with the talented Brigadoon in the Locke bar. Fundraising was generously matched by AMCS. From the proceeds, outdoor exercise equipment was purchased and installed at Red Hill School, Patrickswell.
Elaine Benson Ryan, Principal of Red Hill commented “the outdoor exercise equipment promotes social interaction whilst the students gain the benefits of exercise and fresh air. The students are delighted with the equipment. Red Hill are extremely grateful to AMCS & its employees for affiliating with us on this project”.
Clodagh Murray, AMCS CSR Co-ordinator commented “It is fantastic to be part of AMCS, where employees go the extra mile to give back to the local community in Limerick. It’s marvellous to see how AMCS can benefit Redhill students in their daily lives”.
Earlier in 2017, AMCS also contributed to Dόchas centre for autism in Limerick by decorating rooms and providing audio / visual equipment for users of facility.
AMCS have chosen “mental health” as the area of focus for Corporate Social Responsibility for 2018
